Job Description Summary:

Seeking a full-time Director of Investing with 10-15 years of experience to join a rapidly growing IT services company in Downers Grove, IL.  This person would report directly to the Vice President of Investing and would be responsible for pricing complex, multi tower projects, partnering with clients to develop TCO models and supporting Sales in closing large accounts.  The candidate must be an independent thinker, have experience with Managed Services and IT outsourcing (Mainframe, Distributed and Cloud) as well as a strong understanding of finance, investing and risk assessment. Ideally, the candidate would be located near our headquarters in Downers Grove, IL, though remote candidates will also be considered.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development of pricing models and strategies designed to optimize revenue, market share, brand positioning and long-term profits.
• Evaluate potential opportunities with a focus on complex, multi-tower/multi-solution deals (i.e combination of multiple products lines such as Mainframe, Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Distributed, Consulting) helping sales team holistically solve client needs with a business results-oriented approach vs a technology outsourcing mentality
• Expertise in underwriting with fundamental understanding of financial modeling including identifying cost drivers, scenario-based simulation, balancing risk/return tradeoffs, and interpreting financial metrics and interdependencies (IRR, ROIC, GM, EBITDA, FCF)
• Meets with potential clients to understand business problems, constraints and help team devise solutions, bringing a finance lens, to meet customer needs, both technologically as well as financially (budgetary constraints, cost of capital etc..)
• Produce financial models and support decision framework development to carry out options appraisal based on Total Cost of Ownership.
• Strong ability to interface with client team to properly collect relevant datapoints necessary to build a customer specific TCO
• Preparing documents as required by commercial team to properly convey value, benefit and differentiation of companies’ product offering vs clients DIY, internal base case or BATNA
• Develop process to catalogue data and construct a knowledge base at the company of both client and competitive benchmarks to be leveraged for future TCO analysis
• Provide input into value engineering exercises.
• Preparing written project communication materials including charts and presentation decks.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

• Minimum of 8-12 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related areas.
• IT Technical knowledge
• Handle many priorities and projects simultaneously
• Ability to interface, present to and negotiate with customers at all management levels
• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and listening
• Resilience and resourcefulness in complex problem solving
• Exceedingly good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to derive insights and handle ambiguity from limited data sets
• Ability to develop and communicate clear models to represent business situations and summarize key ideas to both financial and non-financial counterparts
• Ability to work swiftly within tight timelines and meet deliverable due dates
• Comfortable with a quick change of direction

 

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a Data Sciences field
• Experience leading projects for IT outsourcing consultancy

Downers Grove, IL preferable but remote is available

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $180,000 to $220,000annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
