Principal Mainframe Systems Programmer
Paul Buchanan has been a cornerstone in the mainframe domain since 1997, with a specialized focus on mainframe automation since 2008. Currently holding the position of Principal Mainframe Systems Programmer at Ensono, Paul has significantly contributed to the development and optimization of mainframe systems, particularly through his work with Broadcom’s Automation Point. His efforts have fostered major process improvements and innovative solutions that have positively impacted Ensono and its clients.
Paul’s career highlights include his leadership in mainframe automation, his active participation in redesigning network architectures, and his influence in shaping the future of mainframe event monitoring and AI operations. Notably, he has been pivotal in the deployment of Automation Point as an interim solution for diverse systems, showcasing his ability to adapt and integrate new technologies effectively. In his current position, Paul is focused on enablement and development of mainframe automation with tools such as Ansible, Ironstream, ZOAU, and others. Helping to architect our automation solutions with a focus on client security.

Mike Fontanetta has over 40 years of experience in mainframe hybrid strategy and systems architecture. As the Director of IBM Z Product Innovation Engineering at Ensono, Mike has been instrumental in driving innovation and operational excellence across the organization. His expertise spans modern mainframe systems, capacity management, and database architecture where he excels in steering large-scale projects to successful completion. Mike’s leadership is characterized by his adept problem-solving abilities and motivational skills, which enable him to effectively communicate and manage diverse teams across all levels of the business.
In his current role, Mike directs the Mainframe Innovation team, focusing on areas such as automation with Ansible, cloud implementations for mainframes, and team expansion. His efforts have led to significant advancements, including the development and deployment of a mainframe R&D lab and the integration of modern tools like Python and ZOAU to streamline operations.

Brian Hertel is a network consultant and architect with over 20 years of industry experience. He has extensive experience developing transformative network and security solutions for Ensono’s largest clients. He has led many complex data center migrations to public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. Brian effectively works with clients’ technical staff and executives to form strong and trusted relationships. Previously, Brian has worked as a pre-sales architect, a network and security engineer, and as a delivery manager.

With 18 years of experience in the IT industry, Shantanu Gupta specializes in mainframe performance and capacity planning. He consistently demonstrates refined business acumen and exemplary analytical skills, making substantial contributions to performance monitoring and system optimization. As a seasoned expert, Shan has led many projects in tuning and optimizing mainframe systems, proactive monitoring, cost saving for our customers and trained professionals in advanced mainframe concepts, including SAS, MXG, zCP3000, zPCR, zBNA, WLM. His work has led to significant software and hardware savings and optimization projects that have delivered substantial value to clients.

As a Cloud Design Architect at Ensono, Linda plays a pivotal role in aligning technology solutions with client needs, particularly through the deployment of Ensono’s Private Cloud platform. Her expertise in Windows, Linux, and VMware environments has enabled her to lead significant transformations in client estates, optimizing application stacks and increasing automation. Previously, Linda managed the Enterprise Virtualization Services team at Ensono, overseeing the architecture and maintenance of VMware and cloud environments. Her role extended to managing Active Directory and Citrix environments, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for clients.

David’s tenure at Ensono and previously at Acxiom has been marked by significant achievements, including the maintenance of over 3000 RHEL and CentOS servers, and the management of complex automation and patching operations using Ansible and Python. His technical expertise includes developing critical monitoring tools that automate ticket generation and system health reports, significantly reducing operational times and manual efforts.
