Ed Anderson

Board Member

Ed Anderson is a retired global leader with experience in information technology, business operations, digital transformation and information security.

Before retiring, Mr. Anderson was Director and CIO of the International Monetary Fund. He was responsible for the modernization and digitalization of Human Resources, Economic Data, Knowledge Management, Capacity Development and Collaboration functions as well as modernizing IT platforms and information security’s role and function within the IMF. As a result, he was nominated for Capital CIO of the Year and won a CIO 100 award for innovation. Prior to the IMF, he was the Global CIO for World Vision International leading the creation of a unified global information solution and IT organization including a new operating model and cultural integration. As a result, he won an Information Week Excellence Award for Information Security as well as an Information Week Top 100 CIO. He was also Senior VP and Practice Leader for Anerian, LLC (renamed 1901 Group). As SVP, he was responsible for managing Anerian’s government strategy practice focused on IT strategy, process innovation and managed services. Prior to Anerian, he was CIO of the United States Peace Corps where he managed the global technology for this Federal Government agency. As a result, he was selected as one of the Top 100 CIOs in the United States by EWeek Magazine and one of the Top 100 Black Engineers by Black Engineer Magazine. Prior to Peace Corps, he was the interim Chief Executive Officer with GTG Solutions, LLC where he was responsible for management and operations of this IT services firm. Prior to this, he was Chief Information Officer with Americhoice Health Services, Vice President of IT for Sodexho, Director of Global Business Operations for Iridium, Director of Broadband Systems for Verizon, and Senior Manager at Accenture.

Mr. Anderson possesses a strong sense of community service and serves on a number of non-profit boards, including; Board of Directors for Expanding Horizons Youth Programs; Board of Directors for Rockville Pregnancy Center; Board of Directors for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Board Member for C3 Church and Café, Executive Working Board for American University Global Management of IT MBA Program, and Executive on the Grounds for University of Virginia.

Mr. Anderson has also been an owner and partner in Logan Shaw Brewing (a DC based micro brewery), Old Line Wine and Bistro (a Maryland based wine store and restaurant) and Riders on Video (a startup social media platform for the motorcycle community). Mr. Anderson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems at American University.
